From Almería to Nador and Melilla, there are usually daily to several weekly departures. The long routes from France and Italy run less often, typically just once or a few times a week.

From Almería to Nador or Melilla, the crossing takes around 5 to 9 hours. The Mediterranean routes from Marseille and Sète to Tanger Med take around 39 to 42 hours, and from Genoa around 51 hours.

This is also when crossings are most crowded, mainly due to Moroccans living in Europe returning home for the holidays.
